The Square Box

stuck inside a square box
tumbling, rolling, out of control
hard the sides that are hit
objects whirling all around
suddenness, unexpected, chaos
yet it sits at home in the soul
sharpened, pointing, taunting
they are out for blood, hunting
weary the heart they aim for
a heart fighting to thrive
it's tools and weapons scatter
will the soul find them
find release from the box

Take Me In

Here I am, in the midst of You
Wounded soul, longing to be healed
Seeking joy, I fall at your feet
Within my heart, a yearning so strong
Hold me close, help me to stay near
I lay down my love, Take all of me in

Here I am
Wounded soul
Seeking joy
Within my heart
Hold me close
I lay down my love

In the midst of You
Longing to be healed
I fall at your feet
A yearning so strong
Help me to stay near
Take all of me in

The Joy You Left Behind

It is a very sunny day
Walking down to the park
There are kids playing
Making tall sand castles
Unknowing of the troubles
They have yet to discover

It is a rainy day
Walking down to the park
There are kids running
Splashing in puddles
Unknowing of the troubles
They have yet to discover

It is a snowy day
Walking down to the park
There are kids building
Snowmen and igloos
Unknowing of the troubles
They have yet to discover

It is just a day
Walking in the park
You see these same kids
You seem to be unknowing
Of the joy you left behind
